Graduation 2025
Fort Lauderdale, FL – May 14, 2025 – Take Stock in Children of Broward County, Inc. proudly celebrated the graduation of 31 high school seniors in a heartfelt ceremony attended by parents, mentors, community partners, and dignitaries. The event marked not only the academic achievement of these determined students but also the transformative power of mentorship and support in overcoming adversity.
The Class of 2025 was awarded nearly $500,000 in scholarships, a testament to their perseverance and the commitment of the Take Stock in Children (TSIC) program. Each scholar has earned a two-year Florida Prepaid scholarship, with a special announcement made during the ceremony: thanks to a generous grant from The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation, these scholarships will be upgraded to four-year awards, enabling students to further pursue their post-secondary education dreams with greater financial security.
Honored guests included State Representative Marie Woodson and Broward County School Board Member Jeff Holness, who joined TSIC Broward in recognizing the students' achievements. The presence of these dignitaries emphasized the community’s shared investment in the success of its youth.
A highlight of the evening came from Pastor Jesse Knight, whose powerful message encouraged students to "keep writing your story, even when things get tough" — a sentiment that resonated deeply with the graduates and audience alike.
“These students have overcome tremendous obstacles, and tonight we celebrate not just their academic milestones, but their resilience and strength,” said Amanda Frey, Executive Director of Take Stock in Children of Broward County. “We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and grateful to our mentors, staff, and supporters who helped make this possible.”
