Take Stock in Children (TSIC) has been making a profound impact since 1995, providing scholarships and mentorship to over 44,136 children statewide. In Broward County alone, our scholars boast a remarkable graduation rate of 100%, with 100% advancing to post-secondary education and a 73% graduation rate, far exceeding the national average.
Locally, TSIC has served 2,151 students since 1996, awarding nearly $20.3 million in scholarships. Our program has gained state and national recognition as a flagship mentoring organization, demonstrating exceptional outcomes and academic success, as highlighted in a study by the Office of Program Policy Analysis & Government Accountability.

At TSIC Broward, we have established a robust infrastructure that enables us to collect real-time data on our students' academic performance and mentoring engagement. This system not only identifies early warning signs for proactive advising but also our leadership and Board in making informed strategic decisions. Recognized as an educational innovator, we were honored to receive a U.S. Department of Education Investing in Innovation (I3) grant in 2010, highlighting our commitment to promising educational models with national potential.
TSIC Broward identifies at-risk, low-income youth early on, in grades sixth through ninth, as a preventative measure. TSIC Broward currently serves 172 middle and high school students throughout the Broward County Public School system, and 182 college freshmen and sophomores.
Scholarship donations are matched dollar for dollar by the Florida Prepaid Project STARS Scholarship Program.
In addition, Take Stock in Children of Broward has achieved Gold Performance standards for 11 years in a row, including Luminary Awards in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026 with a 100% score!
