Take Stock in Children of Broward
We are the Broward County affiliate of a statewide Florida non-profit organization that provides a unique opportunity for low-income and at-risk students to escape the cycle of poverty through education. We offer our students caring volunteer mentors, student advocacy, college readiness, and college scholarships. Our comprehensive services start in middle school, continue through high school, and include the first 18 months into college.

What services will I receive as a scholar?
Beginning as early as middle school and extending into college, Take Stock in Children provides a unique combination of services to help our scholars succeed. Each scholar, upon entering the program, is matched with an adult volunteer mentor and a TSiC Staff member called a “Student Advocate” who works with scholars, schools and parents to ensure academic excellence. In addition, an array of college readiness tools and workshops provide assistance all along the way. To ensure that financial resources are available after high school graduation, each scholar is assigned a Florida college tuition scholarship in his or her name to be awarded upon successful completion of the Take Stock in Children program.
