On November 10th, 2015, Take Stock in Children (TSIC) of Broward hosted its 3rd Annual Honor Roll Society Reception at Chima Brazilian Steakhouse to raise scholarship dollars for Broward County's low-income youth.

Take Stock in Children of Broward County (TSIC), recently welcomed 36 new scholars to their program. The New Student Orientation and Contract Signing took place at New River Middle School on November 12th. Family members, mentors, and local stakeholders came together to celebrate brighter futures for these 36 deserving Broward County Public School students.

Three students can now attend college. “We tell them congratulations you are a Florida House Experience Scholar, and you are going to college,” Amanda Frey, Program Director of Take Stock In Children, told us. She explained further, “most of these kids saw themselves going to college but they just didn’t know how.”

On June 10th and 11th, 2015, 75 Take Stock In Children high school juniors and sophomores participated in a 2-day, all expenses paid, College Tour trip, funded by the Cruise Industry Charitable Foundation (CICF).

Fort Lauderdale, FL (July, 2015) – On July 14th, Take Stock in Children (TSIC) launched its "Alumni Re-Engaged United by 2020" which offers an opportunity for TSIC Alumni to pay-it forward to TSIC middle and high school students across the state. Celebrating Take Stock in Children 20th anniversary, this year is a special year for our team to set our sights high.

Fort Lauderdale, FL (May, 2015) – On June 20th, Take Stock In Children (TSIC) hosted its first annual Career Expo where 70 Take Stock In Children Sophomores and professionals from Broward County joined together for a day of career exploration .

Fort Lauderdale, FL (May, 2015) -- Take Stock in Children of Broward County (TSIC), welcomed 116 new scholars in middle school and high school to their program this school year. TSIC Broward is a non-profit organization that provides a unique opportunity for low-income and at-risk students to escape the cycle of poverty through education. They offer students caring volunteer mentors, student advocacy, college readiness, and college scholarships. Student services start in middle school, continue through high school, and include the first 18 months into college.

Coconut Creek, FL (January 22, 2015) – Broward County student Paul Muo is one of six deserving scholars across Florida to be awarded Take Stock in Children’s Leaders 4 Life Fellowship, created in partnership with the Asofsky Family Foundation and valued at approximately $40,000 per student award. Take Stock in Children is a statewide non-profit organization with a 20-year history of mentoring middle and high school students so they can achieve academic success by graduating high school and earning a college scholarship to help break the cycle of poverty.
